Head over to Banana Island for an experience you will not forget. Explore this historic island full of interesting and very friendly inhabitants.
There are various options for getting to Banana Island. For this excursion we will set off from Aberdeen for a stunning view of the Freetown Peninsula coastline. We will dock at Dublin, one of the three islands that make up the Banana Islands. Once there, we will have a tour of this historic village and settle down for lunch and maybe a swim later. There is also the option (not included) of doing some snorkeling off the coast of one of the islands. Another option is to take a boat trip to Ricketts before departing for Freetown. If you want to do either of this, you might not be able to do the tour of the island because of time constraints.
Boat will set off at 9am so please get there on time to as not to keep others waiting. Once everyone has arrived, our tour guide for the day will do introductions and brief you on what to expect on the trip. After setting off he will point our various sites on the way to Banana Island, but please feel free to ask him any questions. Check out the beauty of the Peninsula Coastline and see whether you can identify the beaches as we go past!
Packed sandwiches will be provided and consumed on the island where you will have some downtime to have snacks and conversation. If you want a fuller lunch, you can order through the resort on the island as soon as we arrive (not included).
